CAMBATANGO (BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA)
CAMBATANGO was born in Buenos Aires, in May 2006 in the Palermo neighborhood. There, in a typical ‘hood’ corner, guitar players and friends Lucas Sterin Pensel and Ariel López Saldívar met and started shaping the idea of forming a tango band. Other members are Carolina Cajal, bass player who was part of the Tango Escuela Emilio Balcarce Orchestra and immediately accepted the invitation to join the new tango band, Japanese bandoneon player Koji Hirata who has such a love for tango that he had traveled to Argentina to learn everything about it firsthand, and Ruth de Vicenzo, christened by the media as “the vinyl voice,” remains true to the style of the 1930’s and 40’s when the singer was not the leader whom the band had to follow but another one of its instruments.

CambaTango quartet has been the guest band at the Centro de Convenciones de Parque Norte when the musicians performed their select repertoire for the officials of the city’s Ministry of Education. They also performed at the Parakultural de San Telmo and they are a staple at La Viruta and Salon Canning, two of the most popular milongas in Buenos Aires. In September 2007 they were invited to close the festival “La Guitarra: del renacimiento al Rock” or in English “Guitar: from renaissance to rock” sponsored by the Sterenfeld Foundation at the Amijai Auditorium where they shared the stage with prestigious musicians such as Botafogo and Pedro Aznar among others. The quartet made a special presentation at the historic “Confitería Ideal” a Buenos Aires landmark that first opened its doors in 1912.

CambaTango even made it to the silver screen with the appearance of the band in the documentary film “El tango de mi vida” or “The tango of my life, ” directed by Hernán Belón.

DJ RODRIGO (KYOTO, JAPAN)
DJ Rodrigo is one of the most active and popular DJs and considered the only profesional DJ in Japan. Every month he spins at 8 big cities in Japan, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Hirosima, Kyoto and more. He plays now at Hilton Hotel in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya every month. Rodrigo is also well known among international salsa communities. This year alone, he was invited to DJ at many international festivals such as Hongkong Salsa Festival 2008, Malysia Salsa Festival 2008, Paris Salsa Festival 2008 and Korea Salsa Congress.

His DJ style is original. He selects music for dancers by various genres not only the salsa but also jazz, pop music, fusion, flamenco. His cool sound is supported enthusiastically by salsa dancers around the world.

JUAN MONTOYA (NEW YORK, USA)
Based in NY, DJ Juanito the on2guru has DJed regularly at the monthly salsa party at Dance Manhattan (the home of Jimmy Anton's bi-weekly social) from 2005-2009, and the Dance Atlantic social in Brooklyn from 2007-2009. He has DJed at Jimmy Anton's social a few times throughout the years, several other on2 socials (Carlos Konig, Almyra Ayos, Mambo Bravo) as well as various special events at outdoor venues, and as a guest DJ at salsa nights at various clubs (Session 72, Link, Nell's). He also has a free online salsa radio station that plays salsa music 24 hours a day, 7 days a week:
